Julia Klemm's Art Editions for SCHOENDIENER are about the deconstruction of bodies. The Munich-based artist deliberately seeks out mass-produced ceramics at flea markets, destroys them, and assembles fantastic new sculptures from them. These are more than just their remains - they are new ways of experiencing sculpture. The idea behind this is that active ingredients in pharmaceuticals are also often deconstructions of chemical structures. There is an art to altering a chemical structure to reduce side effects or enhance its effectiveness.
