Our models differ in how often you take medication daily – and whether you want to sort by day or for the whole week:

• Monolith L – seven large compartments, ideal for once-daily intake for a full week.
• Monolith II – two compartments per day, e.g. for morning and evening.
• Monolith IV – four compartments per day, e.g. for morning, noon, evening and night.
• Weekly II / Weekly IV – seven Monoliths (with two or four compartments each) in one holder: your complete week, prepared at a glance.
• Kleine Helden – pill boxes with child-friendly motifs, created in collaboration with Kleine Helden e.V.
• Art Editions & Special Editions – limited designs, created in collaboration with artists.

• Once daily: Monolith L – with seven compartments you have the whole week in one box.
• Twice daily: Monolith II.
• Three to four times daily: Monolith IV.
• Want to sort only once a week? Then a Weekly is the right choice: seven Monoliths in one holder – fill it once, covered for seven days. Simply take the right daily Monolith with you.

All measurements, compartment sizes and weights can be found in the respective product description under “Product details”. For reference: the Monolith L is 143 mm long, 30 mm wide, 20 mm high and weighs just 82 g – it fits comfortably in any handbag or jacket pocket.

The compartments are deliberately generously sized. In the Monolith L, each of the seven compartments measures 21 × 17 × 14 mm; in the Monolith 4 Weekly, each compartment measures 23 × 23 × 15 mm. This means larger capsules and multiple tablets per compartment can fit. The exact compartment dimensions for your preferred model can be found in the product description.

Every Schoendiener pill box closes with our patented magnetic closure (European patent) based on powerful neodymium magnets. The drawer can be opened, filled and emptied without effort – and then closes gently and securely. This makes the boxes particularly pleasant to handle, even with limited fine motor skills.

The housing is made of anodised aluminium; the drawers, depending on the model, are made of high-quality plastic (PA6 GB30) or wood (walnut, maple or beech). The wood used complies with the toy safety standard DIN EN 71/3. We use neodymium magnets for the closure. All pill boxes are handcrafted in Germany.

No. Schoendiener pill boxes are artisan products: they are handcrafted in Germany and are not available in unlimited quantities. As a result, individual colours or models may temporarily be sold out – it’s worth checking the shop, as we regularly restock.

Simply wipe the housing and drawer with a damp cloth and allow the box to dry afterwards. Please do not put it in the dishwasher – the pill boxes are not dishwasher-safe.

Our Art Editions are limited runs created in collaboration with artists – currently, for example, the medicine box “Blistra Capsule 2025” by Flora Lechner. The Special Editions feature distinctive colour combinations outside the standard range. Both are only available in limited quantities.

Yes. In our “Kleine Helden” (Little Heroes) category you’ll find pill boxes with child-friendly motifs, created in collaboration with Kleine Helden e.V. – from the Monolith 2 to the children’s Weekly for the whole week.

Absolutely – that’s exactly what we designed it for. Rather than hiding medication intake, the Monolith turns it into a beautiful ritual. This design earned us the German Design Award. Tip: add a Wrap or an Art Edition to make the gift even more personal.

Yes, the Schoendiener pill box was awarded the German Design Award. The jury recognised the combination of clear, direct forms and high-quality materials – an accessory that counters the stigma of taking medication.

“It’s a Wrap” is our protective cover for the Monolith L. It protects your pill box from scratches on the go and is available in various colours. In the shop you’ll also find combination offers of Monolith L and Wrap at a special price.

Yes. In the “Spare Parts” category you’ll find housings, drawers and magnet sets individually. This is not only practical if something gets lost or damaged – you can also create entirely new colour combinations of housing and drawer.

The free Schoendiener app reliably reminds you to take your medication. What makes it special: in the app you fill a digital replica of your Schoendiener pill box – just like in real life. For reminders, you can choose from various sounds or use your own voice recordings.

The app runs on all current iPhones and Android smartphones. You can find it for free in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

1. After installation, open the menu using the button at the bottom right.
2. Tap “Add” and enter your prescription with the intake time.
3. Save your entries.

At the set time, the app reminds you with your chosen sound. You can also see your tablets in the Monolith on the home screen. Adjust sounds, colours and language at any time under “Settings”.

No, the Schoendiener app is completely free – no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising.

Yes, the app also works as a fully functional medication reminder without a pill box – but the combination with your real Schoendiener pill box is of course the best experience.
